About this automation
For the privacy-conscious: run OpenClaw entirely locally using Ollama + Qwen 2.5 72B (or Llama 3.3 70B). Your data, your hardware, zero cloud API calls. Slower but fully private — ideal for sensitive personal or enterprise data.
How to implement
1
Install Ollama: `curl -fsSL https://ollama.ai/install.sh | sh`
2
Pull model: `ollama pull qwen2.5:72b` (requires 40GB+ RAM or Mac Studio)
3
Configure OpenClaw: set model to `ollama/qwen2.5:72b` in openclaw.json
4
Lower heartbeat frequency to compensate for slower inference (local is ~5-10x slower than cloud)
5
Disable memory_search (uses external embedding) or configure local embedding model
6
Test with: `openclaw oracle 'hello, what can you do?'`
